According to a recently passed Colorado law (effective January 2009), anyone convicted of driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.17 or above must install these devices.
If you own a commercial driver's license, the law offers you very little leeway in terms of maintaining this license if you've been convicted of a DUI or DWAI. First offenders have their CDLs suspended for one year. Second offenders lose their CDLs for life.
